Mini-D: Week 8

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

My maternity leave ended (boo-hoo) and Mini-D is now two months old. The little fella has been showing lots of facial expressions lately and he is better at tricking his grandparents with his imitation burping sounds. Although he looked very happy in the burping photos, the actual fact is that he hates to be burped because sometimes it take quite while before that happens. Anyway, this is him when he’s trying to manja.

Mini-D: Burp Session

Friday, April 16th, 2010

Since Mommy is due to go back to work, have been feeding Mini-D EBM(expressed breast milk) through the bottle. IMO, this is one of the many ‘conveniences’ of breastfeeding. No bottles, no need to wash, no need to sterlize, etc. and of course, no need to burp. Mini-D somehow is rather gassy. He hardly burps but boy, does he has lots of gas! When he  breaks wind, (i like this translation for kentut!) can be rather loud and long.  When we were at the pediatrician’s, even the doctor chuckled when the little fella decided to let out gas! “Better out than in!”, he said.

This is por por trying to burp Mini-D.

Since Aunty Kambing from Planet Kambing tagged me, I will oblige! :)

10 things that make me happy:

1) Mini-D various sleeping poses ( he has lots)

2) Getting a beauty treament i.e. pedicure, facial, massage, etc.

3)Not having to go into the office for the past 2 months

4) and being paid for it~

5) home-cooked food everyday (staying with parents during maternity)

6) Mini-D waking up with smiles and laughters

7) Taking an afternoon nap next to Mini-D

8) Shopping online! ( with confinement, this is a real treat! )

9) Alex suprising me with a gift! (yeap, belated birthday gift and probably a ‘birthing’ gift! )

10) Having a super supportive family!

Don’t think will tag anybody, but would like to thank Aunty Kambing for asking me to do this.  It brightens up the day knowing that we are blessed with so many loved ones!

Mini-D: Week 6

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Mini-D has touched Week No. 6 and am proud to say that except for the 1st week of his life, he is 100% on breastmilk.

Week6

With warnings from friends who are breastfeeding their children i.e. Sila, having your little one on 100% breastmilk is no easy feat. Lucky for me, I have a live-in lactation consultant (certified one, dun pray pray) so managed to get Mini-D to latch on quite well. The depressing part was that I could not produce enough to feed him. He was rather hungry for the 1st week of his life which explains why we had to supplement with formula. But when the production went up, Mini-D happily settled for the ‘fresh milk’ and refused the formula!
