Overheard on the radio today …

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

that since the Federal Highway was very badly congested this morning due to the downpour, motorists(cars) decided to get creative and use the motorcycles lanes instead!

What an absolute doofus!  For those of you who are familiar with the Federal Highway stretch between Subang and LDP intersection, you would realise that the motorcycle lanes are really just made for motorcycles. I seriously cannot comprehend why these morons would even think that their huge vehicles would be able to make it thru the tiny passage ways.

Need a holiday..

Seriously, lately I am terribly worn-out. When I finish work I really just feel like just lazing in the front of the TV and just go to sleep. Not only that, gym has also taken a back seat. Have not been getting the exercise I need thus having lots of body aches everywhere.

Which is why sometimes, when I am at work I keep on dreaming of white, sandy, idlylic beaches or perhaps go on those cruises… hehehe… must cajole Alex into bringing me though…

Fun Summer Semester

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

I’m so happy. Yesterday, I went to collect my previous semester’s results and handed in my summer semester’s assignment. A whole week before the deadline. So proud of myself for not leaving till the last minute to complete it.

The summer semester I took this subject called Games and Strategies for Business, which is essentially Game Theory. Yes, that thing they did on a Beautiful Mind. Nash Equilibrium , through the blockbuster was very badly portrayed. Pity the old man who came up with such a powerful theory and yet when it went to the silver screen, the wrong theory was shown! Haha.

Anyway, that was only one aspect of the whole paper. The rest was rather enjoyable. Familiar names like John Von Neumann and Oskar Morgenstern constantly mentioned and before we knew it, the lecturer was flashing Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb during one of the lectures and asked us to analyze it! Sounds like a fun class? :)

The assignment was equally as fun but still very challenging.  During the lectures, I had this crazy idea of analyzing a traditional practice among the Sitiawan folks and folks from smaller towns/villages: main kutu. If some of you noticed that I have been asking around for this main kutu thing on FaceBook or even Twitter, it doesn’t mean that I am going to start one. It is really for the assignment!

I’m glad that I just need to finish off the exam for this one, and I have only two more modules to go! Yippee. It was truly a long and tiring road before I even got to this point. I just hope that I will have the willpower to complete this and graduate!

I’m Back!

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Just want to apologize for the recent disappearing acts.  Have been extremely busy with work. Out of a sudden, instead of going to work at around 7-ish and going back at 5-ish, I suddenly find myself going home for dinner at around 8:30pm ! Effectively I am at work more than 12 hours!  The only lucky thing is that I am having the summer holidays when it comes to the university. At least I do not have to rush for class in the evening and going back home only 10:30pm!

But other than that, nothing really is happening because all my energy has been wasted at work, so during the weekends, I decided that I should be a vegetable and stay put without doing anything!  Take it as a recuperating session. Hopefully when the project is over I have more time to blog!

That’s right. I’ve been bogged down with so many things happening in such a short period… Slightly overwhelmed. Will update soon.
