On Boxing Day itself, Alex and I drove back to Sitiawan to celebrate his grandmother’s birthday. Although her birthday doesn’t fall on Boxing Day itself, it was most convenient for all the family members to gather during that day. So yet again, lots of food. No wonder I’ve been packing on those pounds. Holiday seasons are always about eating, eating and more eating.
Am not going to post the food pictures again but just indulge me in one more.

The Red Wine Mee-Suah. I think this dish is a must when it comes to birthday celebrations for the Foochows. Although when I was younger I didn’t like it but somehow when I grew older the taste was developed to appreciate this dish.

Since the restaurant’s environment is not conducive for public singing, therefore we adjourned back to Grandma-in-law’s house for the cake cutting. Methinks Grandma-in-law was very happy to have all her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and their spouses and even including her great-grandchild to help celebrate her 91st birthday!!
In an unrelated note, a colleague from work came with his girlfriend to visit Sitiawan & Lumut! I hope that the small town charm is enough to impress the two big city folks!!!
Safety is now on everyone’s top priority. With the economic situation as such, many will be desperate and turn to unlawful means just meet ends. (more…)
This year, instead of spending Christmas over at my parents’ place. We decided to do it at Keong’s apartment instead. Although I still did go over to my parents’ place on the eve to go church together. Mom originally wanted to order turkey and do the traditional Christmas meal thingy but Dad didn’t really like turkey meat so we settled for steamboat instead; something that he doesn’t fancy as well. Haha.

Keong decorated his apartment with cute Christmas spruce (don’t think it was ‘boughs of holly’ though.. so no need to go fa-la-la-la-la)

The yong tofu, meatballs (my favourite and throughout the meal somehow all the meatballs which I chucked into the pot seemed to have disappeared! ) and Siew Pak Choi.

Quails eggs although it is high in cholesterol but steamboat is not complete without it, some seafood tofu, golden-needle mushrooms and yao mak.

The Full Christmas spread awaiting hungry folks

The Customary Family Picture : photographer not in though.
A Very Belated Merry Christmas to All!

This amazing baby not only gives us the ultra clear and super speed gaming pleasure but equipped to run the Blu-Ray movie disc, it is bound to keep everyone spell-bound with its exceptionally clear video quality.Truly a treasure to have!
