Athena as a boy!

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

I went for a trim and now I look like a boy as per Alex. Enough said. :(

Grading Systems

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Just realized that I have been posting a lot of on rock climbing lately. So perhaps just bear with me for one more!

The climbing gym that my group frequents uses a French grading system. All of us newbies gets the first lesson by climbing a 5B wall. The 5B wall has lots of grips with the wall slanting to your advantage so that you can just lean on the wall without really holding !

Our group has gradually been progressing from the 5’s to the 6’s. My personal best is only up to 6B+. Attempted a 6C and never made it to the top!

Rock arrangements at the climbing gym changes every month or so but I must commend on the recent rock arrangement at the climbing gym has really been making all of us excited. They rearranged the rocks specially for amatuers like us to get a feel of how competition rocks are like!

KATANA!!

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

That’s the name of the dream rock shoes that I wanted and a colleague of mine bought it! The lady who works at the climbing gym we frequent recently won the shoes at a competition and was selling it since she has the exact same pair. The selling price was RM300. After much ‘brain-washing’ talk by us, not the lady herself, our friend picked up that shoes. We had an ‘opening ceremony’ on Wedsnesday. The shoes retails at around RM429 to RM450.

Back in Sitiawan for Belated Mother’s Day & FIL’s Bday

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

I am back in Sitiawan for a belated Mother’s Day celebration for my mother-in-law and a early birthday celebration for my father-in-law.  One thing I can say is that, Sitiawan is very very humid. Don’t even feel like going out anyway.

I am catching up with my sleep though. Sleeping like a pig most of the time. Wake-up, eat and sleep again. This is therapeutic considering the fact that I slogged over the past two weeks over work and studies.

May Splurge!

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

As promised, I managed to snap some pics of my lastest purchases. For those who managed to guess it was a LCD TV, bravo!! You guys know me well. By the way, this is just a 37″. The AV room is slightly narrow, no point getting a bigger one. This will have to do for the next few years!

My second splurge (technically it’s the first since it was bought before the TV) was my rock climbing shoes!

shoes

Although this aren’t the dream pair of shoes, but should suffice as a first pair to be owned by any enthusiast! Climbed only once in these shoes. Look at the soles! keke.. My friend assured me that his pair suffered the same during its maiden climb too!

Short update

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Sorry for the brief note again. I am suppose to upload pics of my latest purchases but time seems to be my enemy at the moment. I have assignments to complete and an exam due next week. To make matters worse, I am stuck in  a week-long teleconference.

Bye bye, my love
